The most important thing to know is that you aren’t helpless. Your support can make a HUGE difference in your loved ones recovery. You don’t always need to have ‘answers’ or ways to make things ‘right’ for them – sometimes just having the knowledge that someone is there for them, really listening to them with empathy and understanding, and not making assumptions about how they feel, can make the world of difference. You don’t have all the answers, and that’s ok.
