Chief Bates is a Vietnam Veteran having served 30 years in the US Air Force in the Civil Engineering career field. Chief Bates will be our guest TONIGHT for a "fireside" chat about whatever topic happens to pop up! Chief Bates not only has his vast military experiences and knowledge to share with the group,, but after having retired almost 30 years ago has also served his fellow man and community as a Lay Minister, a Master Gardener for the state of Florida's University extension office, and landlord operating a small property renting mobile homes and spaces to those in need. Chief Bates has seen it all, from Hurricanes and Hardships, to Happiness and Heros. His expertise as a collector of objects and knowledge is incredible as his collections include coke bottles, glass insulators, coins, currency, stamps, and plants. He has welcomed life into this world and performed funerals to those who have left this world.
