TONIGHT's Topic: "Keeping Promises!"

"Today in history one of the most famous promises was made at a train station in Australia by General Douglas MacArthur.  As he had left the Philippines in retreat prior to an overwhelming Japanese force in 1942, MacArthur told the people of the Philippines,"I came through and I shall return".  It took over 2 years, but in 1944, General Douglas MacArthur waded ashore declaring, "People of the Philippines, I have returned!",

Promises are an important part of any healing process.  Not only promises to ourselves to improve, but to our loved ones and friends for the same reason.  How can we as recovering persons ensure that we keep these promises to ourselves, just as General MacArthur was able to keep his promise to the Philippine people?" Air Force Veteran Steven Bates
