TONIGHT's Topic: "Time to Get MAD!"

"Everyone remembers MAD magazine from their youth, but did you know that Al Jaffee, the well-known illustrator of the magazine famous for the back page 'fold-in', was also a veteran?  In fact, if it weren't for the Army, Al Jaffee would otherwise be known by his birth name Abraham Jaffee instead of his now-famous moniker of Al as he took advantage of an Army name change program of the time. Born as Abraham on this date back in 1921, Al's work in the Army was that of an artist, believe it or not, from cartoons to floor plans, Al drew for the Army for four years, eventually ending up at the Pentagon where he met his wife to be.

Al is famous for many things, being the longest-working cartoonist for one, working a total of 73 years as a cartoonist before retiring at age 90.  So what can Al the cartoonist and veteran teach us from beyond the grave, as Al died last year at 102 years old?" Air Force Veteran Steven Bates

Join Air Force veteran and author Steven Bates for Mid-Week Musings with the Warriors for Life Support Group tonight as we talk Al Jaffee, MAD cartoonist, veteran, and yes, predictor of the future!
