"Gen. James H. Doolittle once said 'There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer'. He meant that when he said it back in the day and the words still ring true today. General Doolittle was an incredible military leader, innovator, pilot and hero, yet he always found time to spend volunteering. I urge everyone to get out and find something they are passionate about, then find a way to volunteer to help the community get involved in it. Whether it be helping kids read at the local library, building wheelchair ramps with the local veteran service organization, or building homes with non-profits to help shelter those in need, find something out there that gives you not only a sense of purpose, but shows the strength in your heart that Gen James Doolittle has said that there is nothing stronger than." — TSgt (Ret) Steven Bates
