Being led by the Spirit is one of the defining characteristics of children of God. And it is the adopted sons and daughters of God who overcome and inherit the Kingdom of God.
This position as one of God’s children gives you certain privileges and responsibilities. You have access to God directly, any time you like. He has given you access to all of the resources of His Kingdom. And you have a rich inheritance in Christ.
Of course, with great privilege comes great responsibility. In Christ you are responsible for inviting others into the Kingdom and training them in Kingdom ways. Like our example Jesus, you are to be about your Father’s business as you use the Kingdom resources God gives you to ease the suffering of Jesus.
The only way we can do this successfully is when we choose to be led by the Spirit instead of letting our flesh rule over us.
As followers of Jesus we are called to bring the Kingdom of God to the world around us. We will only be successful in that to the degree that we come to understand our position in God's family. | ||
