Come join Volunteer, Peer Support Specialist Kirk Poe for "Awaken Your Inner Healer!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).

We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support Victory for Veterans provides via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

Join Kirk and Friends TONIGHT for a discussion about "Two Roads!" Everyone is welcome!

Macey Estrella served our country as a US Marine Corps military police officer, completed college while on active duty, and launched a successful construction company while she was still in the service. Macey was also one of seven siblings, the product of parents who struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and depression. Her father’s construction work caused frequent moves, sometimes leading to periods where the family lived in tents just to keep a roof over their heads.

“When you’ve got parents who are supposed to love and support you, but they are dealing with their demons every day, with the addiction and the depression, they don’t always make the best choices,” she said.

“I was a child and I knew very, very soon looking at all this, the smell of the drugs and the pain, the physical pain and the mental pain, of the mental health that my parents struggled with. The children are the ones that have to suffer and grow up from that."

The phrase "Two Roads" refers to different paths or approaches one can take to heal and overcome challenges, commonly found in personal struggles. It suggests that there are often multiple viable strategies or options available when navigating a path toward health and wholeness. 

Personal Struggles: Individuals facing addiction, grief, or other significant personal challenges may find themselves choosing between giving in to despair or actively seeking support and working towards healing and a healthier future.
