"This Valentine's Day, as every February 14th, much is said about giving and selflessness. Today on Mid-Week Musings, we discuss one of the most selfless and giving, yet notoriously self-admitted stingiest persons on Earth. That person, born on Valentine's Day in 1894, was Benjamin Kubelsky.
Benjamin, who later changed his moniker to a more comedic name, entered the Navy in 1917 at the height of World War I, serving till the end of the War. During his Naval years, Ben learned a valuable lesson about never giving up on a dream. For the rest of his life, and thankfully for humanity, immortalized in film, radio, and TV forever, Benjamin taught with humor how to face our shortcomings, laugh at ourselves, and adapt to situations without giving up.
