The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day and Week!

Good “R.E.D Friday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the end of another week from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 18 February 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Keep Calm Day!” Why Not?

“Leaders that lead with grace and calmness will not let their emotions get in the way. They don’t wear them on their sleeves. They don’t take things personally. They keep a positive mental attitude and remain fearless in the face of adversity. The calm leader will respond decisively, take accountability for their actions during a crisis, and they listen with intent. You all have many T-Shirts, you wear them, and you’ve been there before…be calm, composed, cool, and in control!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I think my high school football coach first taught me the concept of keeping calm but it was Air Force flight training where it really gelled. In the world of alone, unarmed, and scared spitless it's essential. You learn that as a young lieutenant, but years later as a commanderq it's probably even more essential.
