VITA – Brandon

VFV’s VITA Fund – First Recipient

Name: Brandon

Date: November 15, 2017

My name is Brandon and I am from Green Bay, WI. I served in the Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer for 5 years before being medically discharged. About two years before I got out I found out that I was going to be a dad. At that point I had a good paying job and everything was g

oing well. I found out my girlfriend at the time was pregnant around the beginning of 2016. About 2 months after that she broke it off and that’s when things started going south a bit. I ended up losing my good paying job and was working dead end job after dead end job.

Then in September i just got back from my annual training and got a call at 4 am that she

was in labor. Not more than 2 hours later my son was born. At this point I was working 2 jobs, going to school full time, on my local fire department, and still in the military. Then 9 days after he was born his mom up and left him. So at that point I dropped out of school to get a full time job.

Was doing good then me, my mom and my uncle got fired from the place we were working about 2 weeks before Christmas. I was jumping from job to job just to make my bills and get my son what he needed. At times I was working two or three jobs. In that time I got the job I have now with an I.T company. It is only part time so I have a second job too. I only make about 1300 a month and that’s barely covering my bills.

I was talking to another veteran and telling him how scared I was about money and not being able to provide for my son. That is when he brought US Veteran Jobs to my attention. After hearing more about the program I knew this is something I wanted to do. I knew that going through this would better mine and my sons life and I could give my son the life that he deserves and not have to worry about how I’m going to pay my bills for the month.

VFV is in need of funding as we have a waiting list of about 15 and growing daily and our goal is to put 2,000 into this program each year!  It takes $500 to fund one Veteran.  There are many ways to give; credit card, check, donate a car, truck, RV, yacht, property, business… many options.

Donate from our web site: VictoryForVeterans.org.  Find us on facebook at VFVets.

VFV strategically partners with ETAC in the provision of the IT Apprenticeship Program.  VFV is the funding partner.  ETAC the delivery partner.  We are grateful for the dedication and commitment ETAC gives to veterans.
