We live in an incredibly-mobile society, so figuring out who our neighbor is may not be straightforward, or is it? My home is on wheels, but it has been parked in the same location for over 6-1/2 years, the 2nd longest time I have lived anywhere in my 63 years on Earth. I live in an RV park, so my neighbors come and go, so who is my neighbor? Is it the person who has lived here the longest? The person next door or across the street? What if your neighbor is that person who seems to have a black-cloud hovering over them 24/7/365? Could someone who lives ten-thousand miles away be the neighbor who needs your help?
So, who IS your neighbor, and do you REALLY want to know who your neighbor is? Almost two-thousand years ago, a man asked Jesus this question, but the answer he got caught him off-guard. Taken from Luke 10:25-37:
