Join our Volunteer, Army Veteran & Peer Support Specialist/Supervisor Derrick Iozzio TONIGHT for "Forever Forward!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).
We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic: "Slinky!"

Join Derrick and Friends TONIGHT as we talk about "Slinky!" A discussion about resilience and mental health.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity, trauma, or significant stress by adapting and maintaining mental well-being. It involves flexibility and strength in the face of life's challenges, allowing individuals to cope, recover, and even grow from difficult experiences. Unlike a fixed trait, resilience is a skill that can be developed through a combination of personal strategies and social support.
What resilience means for mental health
Protective factor:
Resilience can help prevent the development of mental health conditions like depression and anxiety by improving one's ability to handle stress.
Recovery tool:
It assists in coping with and recovering from mental health issues and can help prevent relapses.
Not invulnerability:
Resilient people still experience pain, grief, and suffering, but they have the capacity to work through it and continue to function.
Signs If You Have Poor Resilience

How to build resilience
Cultivate strong relationships: Build and maintain connections with supportive family, friends, and community groups.
Find purpose: Engage in activities that provide a sense of meaning and success.
Learn from the past: Reflect on how you have successfully coped with past troubles to inform future challenges.
Develop coping strategies: Practice self-care, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills.
Adopt a positive mindset: Cultivate optimism and see challenges as opportunities for growth.
