Join our Volunteer, Army Veteran & Peer Support Specialist/Supervisor Derrick Iozzio TONIGHT for "Forever Forward!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).
We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic: "Spread Some Germs!"

Join Derrick and friends TONIGHT on this very first day of 2026 for a discussion about "Spread Some Germs!" A discussion about being positive when dealing with your mental health and how being positive can affect others around you that might be having mental health issues or not! Being positive can be contagious!

Positive emotions can be considered "contagious" because people often unconsciously mirror the feelings and behaviors of those around them, a phenomenon sometimes referred to as emotional contagion. This is not a literal spreading of germs, but rather a social and psychological process that helps people bond and coordinate with one another.
The reasons why positivity spreads easily include:
Mimicry: People tend to automatically imitate the facial expressions, postures, and vocal tones of others during social interactions. This physical mimicry then triggers the associated emotional experience in themselves.
Empathy: The human brain has specialized mirror neurons that help individuals understand and share the feelings of others, creating a sense of empathy and connection.
Social Bonding: Sharing positive emotions is vital for building and maintaining strong relationships. When people experience joy or enthusiasm together, it reinforces their social bonds.
Positive Feedback Loop: A positive attitude from one person often elicits a positive response from another, creating an upward spiral of good feelings within a group or community.

In the context of mental health, this "contagion" effect means that interacting with positive individuals can genuinely improve one's own mood and outlook, making emotional well-being a shared, interactive experience.
