Join our Volunteer, Army Combat Medic Veteran, & Music Writer/Producer Mike Williams TONIGHT for "Mike Check" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).

We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic:  "Check Fire!"

Join Mike & Friends TONIGHT for a discussion about "Check Fire!" A discussion about Field Expedient Self-Regulation.

"Field expedient self-regulation" refers to quick, practical techniques for managing one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in the moment, especially under pressure. The goal is to quickly de-escalate a difficult sistuation and move from a reactionary emotional state to a calmer, more thought one. We'll discuss how to do it on 30-60 seconds tonight.

How to Do It (30–60 seconds)

1. Sight In (Focus): Pick one object in front of you. Lock your eyes on it like you would aim down sights.

2. Slow Squeeze (Breath): Inhale slowly through your nose while “squeezing” your shoulders up. Count to 3.

3. Trigger Reset (Release): Exhale fully through your mouth, dropping shoulders. Whisper to yourself: “Reset.” Repeat 3 times.

“Reset is not retreat; it’s the discipline to choose your next shot with a steady hand and a softer heart.”
