We are asking everyone to share who we are and the support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing through the Warriors for Life (WFL) online network. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

When Silence Is Carrying More Than Words

There are screams that shatter windows. There are screams that stop a room, summon help, and make it impossible to deny that something is wrong.
Then there are the other screams - the ones that make no sound.
The scream hidden behind a steady handshake. The scream buried beneath a joke. The scream disguised as anger. The scream sitting at the edge of the bed at three in the morning.
The scream that goes to work, solves problems, takes care of everyone else, and answers every concerned question with two familiar words: "I'm fine."
Kirk Poe and Warriors for Life recently invited the community to reflect on silence. Victory for Veterans describes its vision as a place where hope, support, and healing come together, and its invitation is direct: everyone matters, so talk to us. That invitation matters because before some people can speak, the rest of us may need to understand what their silence has been protecting - and what it has been carrying.
