Join our Volunteer, Lauren Iozzio filling in for Army Veteran & Peer Support Specialist/Supervisor Derrick Iozzio TONIGHT for "Forever Forward!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).
We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic: "The Foundations of Mental Health!"

Join Lauren and friends TONIGHT for a discussion about "The Foundations of Mental Health!" A discussion about understanding the core pillars in the civilain and military context of mental health.
The foundations of mental health are based on a combination of individual, social, and environmental factors that interact to influence a person's well-being. Key components include psychological development from early experiences, social and economic circumstances like family and community support, and biological factors such as genetics and physical health. Frameworks like the "5 C's of Mental Health" (competence, confidence, character, connection, and caring) and the "7 Pillars of Mental Fitness" (vision, attitude, awareness, adaptability, grit, recovery, and connectivity) offer ways to conceptualize and build mental resilience.
Core components
Individual attributes:
Self-esteem, coping skills, physical health, and temperament are significant personal factors.
Social and economic context:
Family stability, community support, socioeconomic status, and access to resources play a crucial role.
Environmental factors:
Cultural norms, access to healthcare, and exposure to chronic stress or violence from the community are influential.
Early experiences:
Experiences in childhood are critical for establishing a foundation for future mental and emotional development.
