The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Good “Saturday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the weekend from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 29 January 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Transition Day!” Why Not?

“A leader must prepare and be ready for transition. What I call passing the torch to the next generation of leaders they’ve developed, mentored, and coached. This is where you must bring your best professional self to the table and not let your emotions derail a smooth transition of power. Your values and core commitments to the team and organization will let them know you’re ready to move on. Don’t drop the torch!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. We all face transitions all throughout our lives, beginning from the moment we are conceived in our mother’s womb, birth, growing, education, working, marriage and having a family of our own to retirement and ultimately to our death. Of course each of us have own variance along the way, but I believe that we should all seek one thing in our life and that is to prepare for those transitions. For me, the greatest transition for me to prepare for is the time that Jesus. Ones back for his Bride, The Church. By the church, I am referring to all true believers I Jesus Christ. This,…

You are most welcome, Col Burroughs, my friend. I will definitely do as you wished. BTW, yesterday I was very busy with my trip to get my colonoscopy and it was delayed by over two hours. When I got home, I responded to your motivational. Apparently the anesthesia given to, me was not completely gone from my system because somehow I screwed up when trying to post it. I was disappointed when this morning I found nothing from me on your yesterday’s motivational. I checked further and found it was still as written, but I guess I didn’t hit the publish button. That’s what happens when you get older, I guess. LOL.

Many blessings to you, my very good friend…

Transition is a term we in the military see more often than most, be it a new commander, PCS, discharge or retirement. What we often miss is that like everything else, the military is training us to be ready for whatever comes along.

Absolutely, but the TAP program has been lacking and that's why I serve on the Board of the National Veterans Transition Service, Inc Aka REBOOT... they have a great and proven plan to help veterans transition from the active services, guard, or reserves. Check them out and share when you can Jack: https://www.nvtsi.org
