Join our Volunteer, Army Combat Medic Veteran, & Music Writer/Producer Mike Williams TONIGHT for "Mike Check" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).
We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic: "Emotional Coordinates!"

Join Mike and Friends TONIGHT for a discussion about "Emotional Coordinates!" Your Inner GPS. TONIGHT's focus: Healing is not about deleting the past, it’s about updating the map with truth and kindness.
“The mind is both map and compass — when we learn to trust its truth with kindness, even the lost roads lead us home.”

Safety and Grounding
“When you hear the word ‘coordinates,’ what comes to mind? A location, or a feeling?”
This helps participants connect to a neutral metaphor — not a diagnosis — and builds psychological safety.
Optional grounding cue: “Let’s all take one slow breath together, reminding ourselves that this space is safe and judgment-free.”
Understanding the Inner GPS
“How do you recognize when your ‘inner GPS’ feels off course?”
“What kind of signals—physical, emotional, or relational—tell you that you’re heading somewhere stressful or unsafe?”
Connect: “Can anyone share what helps you ‘recalculate’ or find your bearings again?”
Thought and Reality
“The poem says, ‘What you think is where you are.’ What does that mean to you?”
“How have your thoughts shaped the way you experienced a situation — for better or worse?”
Facilitator Note: Encourage non-judgmental reflection; remind participants that awareness is not blame, it’s navigation.
Shared Experience and Connection
“When the poem says, ‘Each emotion, a coordinate,’ which one resonates with you today?”
“You can describe it with a color, an image, or a memory if that feels safer than naming the emotion outright.”
Allows emotional participation without pressure or exposure.
Compassion and Forward Movement
“What would it look like if you treated your emotions like coordinates — not obstacles?”
“If you could give your internal GPS a message today, what would it say? (‘You’re doing fine,’ ‘Keep going,’ ‘Pause here,’ etc.)”
Emotions are Your Inner GPS

TONIGHT Mike Williams shares his Music
"Emotional Coordinates!"
A satellite hums in skies above,
tracking each heart that’s seeking love.
Through joy and pain, through loss and gain,
it charts our course through sun and rain.
When laughter lights the open way,
the signal’s strong, the road feels gray—
no, golden bright with sweet design,
our spirits clear, our paths align.
But storms will come and twist the road,
our maps erased, our bearings slowed.
The voice inside begins to plead,
“Recalculating—just proceed.”
Through sorrow’s fog, through grief’s delay,
we lose the map, but not the way.
For even when we’re turned around,
the pulse of hope can still be found.
Love whispers softly, “Carry on,
each night must fade before the dawn.”
Our hearts, though bruised, still understand—
the GPS is heaven’s hand.
So when the route feels undefined,
and fear takes hold of heart and mind,
remember this: you’re never lost—
each turn you take is worth the cost.
For grace remains in every mile,
each broken road, each fleeting smile.
The path may bend, but still it’s true—
the signal guiding home
is you.
Closing Thought: Healing is not about deleting the past — it’s about updating the map with truth and kindness.
